GEWA music was founded in 1925 by Georg Walther in Adorf, Vogtland. Georg Walther and a small team of musical instrument makers from the region concentrated on the production and distribution of musical instruments, which were made in their own workshops but also in smaller manufactories in the Vogtland.
In addition to violin and guitar making, the Vogtland has a centuries-old tradition of making wind instruments. Based on this tradition, GEWA music was able to offer instruments made by smaller manufacturers from the Vogtland region throughout Europe at an early stage. At the beginning of the 1990s, GEWA began to develop instruments made in Asia. GEWA instrument makers based in Adorf, Vogtland (various practicing European musicians and teachers, specialised in individual wind instruments), developed the meanwhile world-famous range "ROY BENSON", which covers the needs of beginners and advanced players in the best possible way. Today, instruments from this product line can be found on all continents; the instruments are highly regarded, especially in schools and in the amateur sector.
Due to the success story of its own brand Roy Benson, GEWA music gained a high reputation with leading manufacturers and brands in the USA and Japan. It was possible to take over the European distribution rights of important, worldwide known brands. As a result, GEWA Winds covers the upscale and professional wind instrument market with these global brands:
- Vincent Bach, King, Conn, Le Blanc, Yanagisawa.
Furthermore, GEWA Winds offers instruments made of plastic under the brands pTrumpet and pBone, which are very popular in the outdoor and amateur sector. Their robustness and sound quality are legendary. In addition, we hold the European distribution rights for the highly esteemed "Richter harmonicas" of the American/Japanese manufacturer Lee Oskar.
GEWA Winds znamená, inovativní produkty, stále nový vývoj, prodej pro evropský a světový trh se zaměřením na marketing, prodej, vývoj a to vše více jak ve 14 řečech.
